Spring Meeting - 29th March 2003
The Hertfordshire Natural History Society has topical mammal themes in its programme of natural history tal;ks on 29th March 2003.
Following a sell-out Bird Conference in February, the Society is investigating the only species of mammal to have been released first in Hertfordshire that was known to the Romans as a tasty species to be fattened up in pots: the Edible Dormouse.
Water Voles, however, have bene present in britain since the last Ice Age, but are now suffering prom predation by the American mink that escaped from farms in the last century and Chris Strachan is giving the latest information on their status.
