We are pleased to announce that, as from 17 May 2016, David Utting is the new Secretary to Hertfordshire Natural History Society, Virginia Kennard is the new Membership Secretary and Joe Gray is the new Editor of the Hertfordshire Naturalist. Full details below.
HNHS Secretary - David Utting has responsibility for all day to day matters running the Society and sale of our books. David is a retired journalist and social researcher living in St Albans. His enthusiasm for natural history (especially birds) started during a childhood, spent in Cambridge, the Sudan and Malawi.
The contact the email address for David remains the same email@example.com. (this is the same email address previously used by Linda Smith when she was HNHS secretary).
Membership Secretary - Virginia Kennard has responsibility for membership records, new members, renewals and changes to members’ contact details. Virginia was brought up in Hatfield and enjoys studying all aspects of natural history but particularly plants and birds. She has recently returned to Hertfordshire from living/working in Canada and Costa Rica. You can contact Virginia by email firstname.lastname@example.org.

The new Editor is Joe Gray, a naturalist living in St Albans with a particular interest in woodland ecosystems and invertebrates. He is county recorder for true bugs and co-organizer of the Herts Invertebrate Project. Joe also has a keen interest in ecological ethics. Contact Joe Gray by email

Hertfordshire Bird Recorder – following Ken Smith’s departure for Sussex, Alan Gardiner has taken over the role of Bird Recorder assisted by Mike Ilett, Chair of the Herts Rare Birds Panel and Tom Speller.
