Throughout March and April - A Date with Nature - Heron watch - in Verulamium Park The viewpoint is opposite the lake's largest island in Verulamium Park, St Albans you get good views of the Herons on their massive nests on the island. Volunteers armed with exciting facts about the birds are on hand to help visitors of all ages use telescopes and binoculars to get a great view into the massive nests. Props and hands-on demonstration materials have proved a hit with younger visitors, helping them to find out more about these surprising birds. Heather Angel, the award-winning wildlife photographer and author, will be presenting GREEN CHINA – an afternoon in celebration of China’s natural heritage. at Springfield Parish Centre, Chelmsford at 2pm.
