The first 1875 Award – Colin Plant honoured

Colin Plant receives the HNHS 1875 Award, an engraved crystal block, from HNHS Chairman, Peter Delaloye at the Autumn meeting and AGM in November 2008 We are proud to announce that the Society’s inaugural 1875 Award has been presented to Colin Plant for his outstanding contribution to natural history in Hertfordshire. Colin, who has been our County Recorder for moths for over ten years, is the author of the impressive HNHS book The Moths of Hertfordshire published last July. The name of the award commemorates the founding of the Society in 1875. The hunt is now on for nominations for the 2009 awards.
