Have you ever wondered how many species of bird have been seen in Hertfordshire and what they are?  Well, the list published annually in the Herts Bird Report can now be found on the website.

Click on The Herts List in the main menu.

The list will be updated annually to include new confirmed additions to the list and any taxonomic changes.  National and County Rarities are highlighted along with birds that are considered scarce in the County.  You can also see how many previous records there have been of rarities and when and where the last record was.

Full details of all birds seen in Herts each year will continue to be published in the annual Herts Bird Report but this online list is intended to give a quick overview of the 314 species seen in Hertfordshire up to the end of 2023.  The list is also available in downloadable form enabling you to create your own Herts Checklist.
